Coronation Forest commemorative event

Each year since 1954 there has been a week-long event in Coronation Forest for primary schools in the Nelson region.  School students aged between 9 and 10 years spend a day in the forest planting plantation trees, visiting a forestry operation and  learning about native forest plants, birds and bugs as they walk a natural forest conservation trail.

The event is held in August each year.  Schools will be contacted by Nelson Management Ltd.

HERE is a School Journal story about Coronation Forest.
